The Central Source for Professional Verifiable Identification

Private Process Servers

In several jurisdictions throughout the Unites States, the identities of persons authorized by court rule, or statute, to serve civil process are not readily available for public verification. Many of these jurisdictions do not require it, and simply allow for persons 18 years of age or older, who are not parties to the particular civil action that is being served, to serve the process. No registration or licensing is required.

As part of their duties, private process servers interact with various segments of their communities on a daily basis. Often, their identification as process servers is requested, or required.

PPSVID.com, established by PPS Collateral Services, allows for a voluntary enrollment of professional process servers within their respective jurisdictions to make public their qualifications and identity. The process servers who voluntarily enroll are provided with a private web page upon which their information and images of qualified identification cards are posted. These identification cards may be viewed in person when presented to a requesting party, and can be further verified online by scanning a QR (Quick Response) Code on the identification or business card, or by selecting a “Click to Verify” button on a website. The response will be a similar image as that appearing on the identification card, and that person’s current status and relevant information. See Participating Professionals tab for images and posts.

Other Important Professionals

Initially focused on professional process servers, PPSVID has received numerous positive comments and requests to make this opportunity available to other professionals that interact within our communities where verifiable forms of identification are also essential. As a result, PPSVID now offers these opportunities to Private Investigators, Constables, Real Estate Professionals, Notaries Public, and Court Interpreters. It is anticipated that other professionals will soon join this group.

Minor Children, Seniors & Disabled Persons

Identification of certain members of our society, particularly those who are vulnerable due to age, health, or disability, and the need to be able to quickly contact family members, or other important parties, is also of paramount importance. Compounding these circumstances are natural disasters, civil disturbances, and other emergent events. Often, such persons do not have the ability to convey important contact information to police, or other emergency assistance providers, to assure their safety and well-being.

PPSVID now offers verifiable identification cards and website posts for the safety and protection of minor children, seniors, and persons affected by disabilities. The contact information for these cardholders may be accessed via a scan of the QR code appearing on a card, or via a free app currently available on Apple mobile devices.
